Xiaomi has started updating some of its phones to Android 12 through the MIUI beta, despite the fact that Google has not yet released the final version of the next big Android update.
The final version will not arrive for a few weeks, but Xiaomi has decided to pave the way through beta versions of MIUI based on Android 12, which in recent days have begun to reach a total of six different devices.
List of Xiaomi phones receiving Android 12 Update
Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 12 versions to its latest high-end models. Currently, the Mi 11 and Redmi K40 series devices are already compatible with the new version of MIUI. The full list of models is as follows:
- Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
- Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi 11
- Xiaomi Mi 11i
- Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro
- Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro+
However, today, and as we anticipated a few days ago, only the Xiaomi Mi 11 has a version of MIUI based on Android 12. In the rest of the models, for now, it is only possible to install a “clean” version of Android 12 without the Xiaomi add-ons.
In addition to that, it should be noted that the beta program has only been enabled in China, where some users can adhere to the internal beta program to test the news of Android 12 on their Xiaomi smartphones.
In any case, it is to be expected that, sooner or later, Xiaomi will open the registrations for the MIUI Global beta program based on Android 12, before starting to distribute the update among the mobiles in its catalog.
