POCO X3 Finally Receives The Latest And Biggest MIUI 12.5 Update In India

POCO returned to India with great success after a hiatus following the success of its debut product Poco F1. The POCO X3 was one of the first devices released in 2020.

MIUI 12 based on Android 12

The device ships with MIUI 12 based on Android 12 out of the box with the Android 11 update released earlier this month. Today the device is receiving the MIUI 12.5 update over Android 11.

POCO has launched the phone in India as an alternative to its Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in other regions. The flagship variant, dubbed the POCO X3 Pro, is also available now.

In case you’re wondering, the POCO X3 Pro debuted with MIUI 12 running Android 11, so it also got MIUI 12.5 before its vanilla variant. Today, the vanilla version is finally getting this update as it recently received the Android 11 update.

MIUI 12.5 update for POCO X3 in India

The MIUI 12.5 update for POCO X3 in India has build number V12.5.2.0.RJGINXM. It contains several features and a July 2021 security patch.

Similar to past OTA updates, it is being rolled out in different batches, so some users will get it before others, and some will have to wait for the same.

POCO will also release an Android 12 based MIUI 13 update sometime in the future, but MIUI 12.5 is the biggest update for a phone so far.

POCO X3 Features and Specifications

The POCO X3 features a 6.67-inch display with FHD + resolution. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G SoC provides the device with up to 6GB of RAM. The device has a 6,000mAh battery and runs Android 11 but launched Android 10.

64MP Main Camera

In terms of optics, the device has a quad rear camera system with a 64MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and two 2MP sensors for depth sensing and macro photography. The notch houses a 20MP selfie camera.

POCO X3 supports dual SIM with Nano-SIM support. The device weighs 215 grams and is available in two colors: Cobalt Blue and Shadow Gray. Connectivity options include GPS, NFC, 4G, Wi-Fi, and IR.

For the price, the device retails for Rs 15,999 for the base variant and Rs 18,999 for the higher tier 8GB + 128GB variant. The POCO X3 in India is a pretty decent device for heavy users as its 6,000mAh battery keeps it running smoothly for 2 days and the processor is more than capable of handling games and most if not all heavy tasks.
